Kitchen cabinet color combinations

Start with the finishes that are staying, then use the visualizer to compare cabinet, wall, and island colors together.

Contemporary kitchen featuring a large central island with gray cabinetry and three wooden bar stools. White shaker-style cabinets line the walls, complemented by a stainless steel refrigerator, double wall ovens, and a range hood. Pendant lights with warm metallic shades hang above the island, illuminating the light wood flooring. A herringbone tile backsplash, open wooden shelves, and minimal decor create a clean, modern aesthetic.
Gray + white kitchen cabinets

A balanced gray-and-white kitchen puts white on upper cabinets or trim, gray on lowers, and a warmer or deeper island color for contrast. Try Dolphin Gray HDC-T-10A on lower cabinets with Polar Bear 75 on uppers, then preview the pair against your countertop and flooring in the visualizer.

Contemporary kitchen interior featuring a large white island with four brown bar stools. Black pendant lights hang above the island, illuminating the central cooking area with a stainless steel range and hood. White cabinetry with gold handles lines the wall, complemented by black-framed windows on either side. Light wood flooring and minimal decor create a clean, modern, and inviting atmosphere.
White cabinets + black island

A dark island creates a strong focal point while lighter perimeter cabinets keep visual weight low around the room. Try Blank Canvas DC-003 or Polar Bear 75 on the perimeter with Cracked Pepper PPU18-01 on the island, then compare the black against your hardware, appliances, and countertop veining in the visualizer.

A bright, modern farmhouse kitchen features cream and white cabinetry with glass-front upper cabinets. A rustic wooden dining table with black chairs sits in the center of the room beneath a hanging pendant light. Large French doors allow natural light to flood the space, highlighting the warm wooden floor. Potted plants and neatly arranged kitchenware add a cozy, lived-in feel to the interior.
Light cabinets + dark countertops

The contrast reads strongest when the cabinet color stays light enough to clearly separate from the counter. Natural White DC-005 or Blank Canvas DC-003 both hold the separation well. Preview the combination with your actual floor and backsplash visible in the visualizer when possible.
